Afro flavoured rhythms and more from this highly regarded guitarist
Chris Santo Cobbson is a hugely popular name on the jazz circuit. Of Ghanaian heritage, growing up in London, Chris absorbed a huge range of musical styles from Jazz to Reggae and African rhythms to Soul and these influences have created a unique style that is reminiscent of the maestro Grant Green perhaps mixed with a little early George Benson. Chris performs regularly with 70s chart toppers Osibisa, ground breaking saxophonist Sir Courtney Pine and a host of other top names in the worlds of entertainment and Jazz, Blues and Soul. This show will concentrate on music that has African rhythms and ‘feels’ at its roots. On board will be pianist Maff Potts, drummer Keith Fairbairn and bassist Paul Jefferies.
